Women drugged and dancing in glass boxes
(probably against their will) being gawked at by any passer by, bar girls being
bought night after night, families on vacation with young children snapping
photos of women dancing on top of bars, the constant shoving of “ping pong,” or
live sex show, flyers in my face, tourist after tourist lining up to get their
picture taken with “lady-boys” and show girls, and all of this happening in row
after row after row of bars taking part in the commercial sex industry.

“Lady-Boys”

These are just a few of the stomach turning
things we see every night when we step foot on the streets of Patong. It takes
courageous faith to see even a glimmer of hope in a place of such darkness. But
because of our great God, we can walk with faith that mountains will be moved
and women and men will find freedom in Christ. It is only through the power of
Jesus and the authority He has given us through His Holy Spirit that we can go
into this dark place and shed His holy light.

Night life in Patong

Every night before we go out we spend an
hour in worship and prayer. One of the songs says, “Let what we do in here fill
the streets out there, let us dance for You.”  This is our prayer as we go into the bars. That every step
we take in Patong, every conversation we have, every prayer we pray would be an
act of worship and would fill the streets, expelling the darkness.

Games at the bars are a great way to connect with the women.

As we finish our time here in Phuket we
leave with the faith that there is hope! There is hope for the women trapped by
man and/or economic pressures and there is hope for the broken people keeping
this industry alive.

My team for bar ministry this month (L to R): Ginny, Kayla, Me, and Allison.

Thank you for your prayers this month! God
is answering and change is taking place here. Lives have been forever changed
because of your faith and God’s goodness.

Ginny and I went to Starbucks with two of the bar girls. We are praying that they choose to come out of the bars!

Many Blessings,

Kim
