Yesterday some of my team decided to go on
an adventure to Mt. Dajti. Our
plan was to summit the mountain regardless of what obstacles stood in our way.
(It was a good thing that Lindsay and I were unaware of these obstacles.) When
we started our journey I was wondering what in the world I had gotten myself
into. After the first 3 minutes I was out of breath and my legs were killing
me! We stopped to eat lunch and Lindsay and I dropped off a lot of our things
between some rocks; then the 4 of us began the 2 hour trek to the summit.
The way up was rough to say the least. We
were trail blazing and I’m pretty sure we went places that no man has gone
before. There were moments that I was on my hands and knees crawling up the
mountain just to keep my center of gravity lower to the ground. I was grasping
anything I could to pull myself up. Over rocks and small cliffs, through grass
fields on the side of the mountain, across ridges, Lindsay and I followed our
fearless leaders, Glenn and Kyle, all the way to the top.

It was worth it! When I stood on top of Mt.
Dajti, I felt like I was on top of the world. I don’t know how to describe it
accurately with words, maybe majestic or heavenly, instead of attempting here
are some pictures from the summit:

much He created purely for His glory and our enjoyment; He wants us to
experience Himself in great ways. This entire race is about bringing people
into the Kingdom of God, and this month doing that has been in a much more
direct way. Many times we don’t see the fruits of our ministry right away but
this month I have been a part of at least 17 teenagers coming to know God and
accepting their place in the Kingdom. The summit was just a small glimpse, if even that, of heaven. While the journey is sometimes hard and we don’t know if
we can go on, the final destination is worth it and God always provides great
moments and blessings along the way.

“Fight the good fight of the faith. Take
hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good
confession in the presence of many witnesses. In the sight of God who gives
life to everything, and of Christ Jesus, who while testifying before Pontius
Pilate made the good confession, I charge you to keep this command without spot
of blame until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, which God will bring
about in his own time – God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and
Lord of lords, who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light,
whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen.”
