Once a week we get an off day. This month
that day is Tuesday. For our day we went to visit the Cristo; the Cristo is the
2nd largest Jesus statue in the world. It was fun, mostly just a
great view of the city from the top. Here is a picture of the ‘W’ at the top:

This ‘W’ is our squads gnome for the year… the ‘W’ made it to the Cristo!

On our way back we stopped at the grocery
store to get some snacks. When in other countries you learn to expect NOT have
many of the foods you are used to in the US; but sometimes you get little
surprises. This time we got a great surprise… Dr. Pepper! Normally the only
soda you would expect to find would be Coke, Sprite, and Fanta (and their Pepsi
counterparts). So now, for a month we get to enjoy the occasional Dr. Pepper…
or maybe just this week since it could have been a one-time thing. Until then
the Dr. is in the house and we will enjoy!

(For some reason I can’t get the pictures to go vertical… sorry! 🙂
Also, I am apparently now, because of my
spiffy scrubs, qualified to in fact be
a doctor. Well, a physical
therapist, same difference right? Anyway, here is a picture of me, the new Dr.
in the house! (More to come on ministry in the hospital).
It’s Official!
