It
has been a month since day one of training camp and I still don’t know exactly
how to convey to you all that happened. I am still processing and learning from
the experience, but as this is already a long overdue blog I will do my best to
give you the highlights.
we arrived at camp we were all so excited to finally meet everyone that we had
been talking to for the past several months. Meeting people I already knew was
strange. They thought I was a crazy stalker (which I am not) because I had
pretty much memorized everyone’s name from our team blog. As a squad we grew
closer and together defeated the X and Y squads in the highly competitive Squad
Wars! Go Dub-Squad!!!
and spiritually and I know that we are even more ready to face this upcoming
year with strength and reliance on God.
During
camp God opened my eyes to some of the things He wants to teach me.
–
He
is showing me that I need to find my identity in Him and nothing else. For much
of my life I have tried to fit into a box created out of the perceptions I had
of how others perceived me… if that makes sense. But I am learning that I have
to find myself in Him and then all of the things about me will fall into place.
–
Exposure
brings freedom! This was a hard lesson to learn but one that I know is
incredibly valuable. Basically if I keep my ‘stuff’ bottled up inside it will
eat away at me and give satan a foothold. But if I am exposed there is no shame
and satan’s foothold gives way.
–
God
WILL show up! There is a much longer story here but for now I will just say
that if you ask God and seek His face, He will show up. It may not be like you
think or when you think, but He will.
A
big part of camp, and probably the most anticipated part of camp, is finding
out who your team is going to be. I was pretty nervous about this since this is
basically going to be my family for the next 11 months. But let me just say, especially to
anyone who is planning on going on The World Race, don’t worry! God totally has
this under control too! I will be honest, after finally finding out who my team
was I was completely confused! It made no sense to me how I fit on this team,
but after spending time with these wonderful ladies, I can see what God was
thinking. (I should never have doubted!) So with out
further ado, let me introduce team Battle Cry:
Battle Cry
–

Here’s the meaning: The women of “Team Battle Cry”
are called to be warriors. We ARE brave, strong, courageous, prayerful, and
fighting for the lost, broken, and hurting people of the world. We have not
been called to live the American Dream, but to RISE UP and be a generation of
change. We don’t enter the nations in silence, but with a Battle Cry for the
King… He WILL be made known. (Taken from Kaitlyn’s blog.)
