This month I am working with an organization called Arms of Love. I’m living with 33 beautiful kiddos who have been rescued from unsafe family situations. We have been here 3 days and this place has stolen my heart. I love the Filipino people and these kids are the best.
Our contact is a great communicator and has given us some great goals for us as we build relationships. My new brothers and sisters go to Christian schools and many of them are open to hear about Jesus. I am so excited for the possibilities of this month!
Every day I get to meet my kids at school for lunch and eat with them during their break. Dinner every night is spent in a different house with a smaller group of kiddos. The past two nights I have been in the boy’s houses. The first night with the older boys we listened to Katy Perry and sang Roar and Unconditionally at the top of our lungs. The second night with the younger boys they taught me how to eat a mango and asked me a bajillion questions about anything that popped into their heads and then we laid on the ground and fake cried when I had to leave.
This month we will also be working with the kids in learning a song and dance for them to do when new teams come. When we came we were greeted with two songs and it was such a blessing to me so I am excited to be working with them on this. At our first rehearsal I taught them how to dougie, burnie, and we did the harlem shake…
We also went out with the house parents today to buy paint and we are going to be painting scriptures and stuff on the walls in the kids rooms. This trip has taught me so much about how my words have power so I am excited to be praying into what truths the Lord wants to be written on the walls of these little ones and then forever in their hearts.
This month has so much potential. I am so excited about every little part of it.
