A year of my life living around the world – I am speechless to the things I have experienced. I am in awe of the creator and Father of all, who enabled me to grow with him while serving his children in other nations. What an honor. What a life. What joy.

I have loved the little moments: The times where my friends and I were riding in one of the countless (seriously SO many) truck beds with warm wind blowing across our faces. The times where I’m alone worshipping in a humid bedroom in Asia. The times where I’m sitting with a joy-filled kid from Swaziland on the playground. The times when I’m laughing my head off with hosts that feel like another mom and dad. The times where I glance and see a worn man or woman and wonder what stories their hearts could tell.
I am in awe. I think God enjoys the little moments so much. I think he cherishes them. Our world seeks the beaming spotlight and the showy stuff. But not our God. One fact I am taking away from the World Race is that there is much to enjoy in the simple and the seemingly mundane. That means jumping in and being immerse in the environment and surrounding that you find yourself in.
“Now I find my life in yours, my eyes on your name.” Hillsong United
I’ve seen adult women cry in Botswana when our team departed after a month. I’ve been hugged and kissed on the cheek by a friend with special needs in Malaysia. I’ve sat with orphans and widows in Guatemala. I’ve sung worship songs with prisoners in South Africa. I’ve had coffee and cake with some of the most welcoming families in the Dominican Republic.
Not sure where I was headed with this post, but I have learned (and am learning more and more) that little acts of simple love are what changes this world. So…do you want to be a world changer?
