Hey everyone! I am here in Albania, and everything is well. It is a very beautiful country; there are some "mountains" around us–meaning not Colorado mountains–and the beach is supposedly very close to us (I am going to check it out tomorrow!). During my first run through the countryside I had to remind myself to look up and around to take it all in.
We are partnering with a summer camp that hosts children from like 1st to maybe 8th grade–I don't exactly know, none of them really speak English. Its been pretty fun so far; after getting dominated in soccer, I took it to the little Albanian dudes in some field hockey. I finally felt remotely Canadian.
I'm living in what used to be a bathroom, sleeping on a bed. It's a little hot at night, but it is nice.
Prayer requests:
That I could remain healthy! I've already gone through some painful episodes with my GI system. But not to worry, Mom, I'm already feeling better. Please also pray that when painful moments strike in my stomach, that I would learn to look to Him and give thanks–thank Him for His grace, forgiveness, and that I could be here on the World Race.
That I could lead well. So if you didn't know this already, I am the leader of team Radical Obedience. All that really means is that I have an awesome opportunity to serve in a new way. It's a little bit intimidating, but I'm excited to be in the position.
That our team could continue to grow closer to Him, and closer to each other. I am very blessed to be a part of such a motley crew. We are all different, and I think that's one of the things we appreciate most about our team. Like every team, we will have our problems to work through. Please pray that we would remember to forgive each other in the same way that He has extended grace to us.
Unfortunately I'm having difficulties posting pictures and whatnot to my blog, so I guess words will have to suffice. Thanks for your continued prayers! Feeling blessed.
