If anyone told me that God is always
serious and very strict, I would honestly begin to laugh. I know from
experience that my Lord has a sense of humor.
Sunday,
October 17, 2010 the Lord me
up at 4am to pray.
to sleep. I began to pray but soon my sleepy eyes closed in mid sentence. I
knew the right thing to do was to get out of my bed but I was so warm under my
blanket. So I said, “sorry Lord but bed before prayer.
Isn’t that selfish or what?
8am rolled by, got up and while in the
bathroom the Lord said, “Kerry I called you for a reason. I am not
disappointed or angry, next time get up. Immediately I repented and
said, “Lord use me despite my failures. I am your vessel.
The Lord put the song, “Inside Out
upon my heart.
I began to sing, “A thousand times I fail, and still
your mercy remains. Should I stubble again, I am caught in your grace.
Isn’t that the truth? It doesn’t matter how
many times we fail the Lord still remains.
Soon, it was time to leave. Lisa and I
walked downstairs and without thinking we went through the side entrance where
the restaurant El Centro has a corridor.
We went to the front door but it would not open. We went to try all the other
doors and they would not open.
I began to laugh saying, “Lord
all I want to do is go to church and be with your people but I am stuck with no
way out!
Lisa and I found a little closet full of
the garbage cans and noticed there was a door behind the garbage. We moved
the garbage cans and opened the door, just to find another closet.
With that we gave up and sat on the curb,
until we will be rescued.
Lisa then said, “Why don’t you and I have
church?
Immediately, Lisa began to play a song
called, “You are beautiful my sweet, sweet song. I began to pray and
my last sentence that I spoke was prophetic and I had no idea.
I said, “Lord we will
worship until the doors are open.

I was thinking the physical doors but here
in that sentence the Lord meant for the spiritual doors to be open.
The Lord has been calling and beckoning us
to stand in the gap. He used this day to teach us a valuable lesson, that we
are called to open
doors.

We are called to open our mouths and PRAY.
This month is about crying out to the Lord. As the words of Kim Walker says, “We
are longing for the glory of the Lord cause we know there’s so much more.
We will worship, until the doors are open.

Within 2 minutes of praying this prayer the
Lord opened the doors. Our church service concluded but within our hearts a
fire grew.
Lisa and I began to laugh and we were both
thankful for our encounter with our loving, funny Father and how he uses
moments like this to teach us and wake us up.
Are you ready for an encounter with the Lord?
October
29, 2010 I want to invite you to an event called International Night Of Prayer.
The night will encompass cries around
the world asking for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, an awakening of the
Church, and a Revival. The vision isn’t just for our friends and family. It’s
for the ENTIRE WORLD, so mark your calendars and then help by forwarding this
message to people you know. We are asking for churches to get involved,
individuals to get involved, and organizations to get involved for this night.
As Christians, we often ask God to act so we can move when, really, He’s asking us to act so He can move. I firmly believe that this is
what needs to happen now. The world is broken, hurting, and believing and
living in lies. God is
asking us to act so He can move. Will you join us on October 29, 2010 to start fighting for
reconciliation in the Kingdom of God? He’d love to have you there…
INTERNATIONAL NIGHT OF PRAYER
Date: Friday, October 29th,
2010
