While at training camp we had an opportunity to give your 3 minute testimony. I personally never did mine in front of everybody because I never knew how to shorten mine to 3 minutes probably for the fact that I have a problem with rambling on to much and not getting to the point.

So I honestly avoided it up to now when on Saturday we were invited over by a local church in Mossman to tell our testimony at a BBQ. And to my surprise it only took me about 10 minutes to tell my story and it wasn’t as miserable as I thought it would be. This Sunday we were asked by Janice to lead the church service and as a team we decided to tell our testimonies because the people here at the Mossman Gorge respond well to stories. Now for some reason I decided that I would share my story. Don’t ask me what possessed me to volunteer myself to speak. But on Sunday Leisa and I were schedule to speak but then things changed. Leisa felt that she wasn’t suppose to speak so it was all on me. Then Mareba church traveled an hour to fellowship with us as well. So the church was packed and all that was going through my head was I am not ready! But I heard the Lord loud and clear saying who’s story is it anyways? You were born to share your story. Powerful isn’t it we are all born to share our stories to the world. It’s not our story anymore but God’s.

After some singing it was my turn to go up. I began to share. I shared about my past wounds and hurts and the relationship I had with my father. How it used to be distant and cold but once I found freedom in the Lord God changed everything. I forgave my father and my mother. I forgave myself and said I no longer wanted to live for me but to live for Christ. And through the freedom I found in Christ slowly God intervened in my family’s lives. My sister decided it was time for some freedom and life began to flow like a river in her soul. She no longer saw the our heavenly Father as a distant God but one who is close to our hearts. My mother began to become restless in the same old same old she wanted more. She now sees life as an opportunity and hears clearly from the Lord. And my dad asked for forgiveness and I love him beyond with what words can say.

You see this is the power of Christ. He can changed the hardest heart. Only He can turn your brokenness into something beautiful. I see as my life as a testament of how good and faithful is my Lord. He will never give up, He will never let go and though you feel alone, all along He was right beside you.

After I shared my story I began to share about Jesus and how through His precious blood we can find forgiveness for our sins and that these sins no longer control us. We are free! Romans 8:1-2 says, “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.”

Can I tell you how happy I am to tell you that two people became Christians and are now apart of God’s family. Isn’t that amazing? In fact I am tears right now because of it. I cannot believe that God can touch people with my testimony. This is the power of Christ. This is how good He is.

Ephesians 1:7-9 says, ” In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. And he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ.” 13-14, “And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised of the Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until redemption of those who are God’s possession-to the praise of his glory.”

If you don’t know Christ as your Saviour I ask that you won’t put it off anymore. That today will be the day when you say yes. I can tell you that your life will never be the same.

Salvation prayer

Jesus today I come running to you for the first time. I know that you died for me and it is upon the cross and through your blood that I am redeemed and set free. Now sin has no power or grip on me. I thank you for all that you have done. And I ask for your Holy Spirit to rearrange my life.

If you prayed this prayer welcome to the family of God. I encourage you to attend a local church near you and meet with the pastor and say that you just accepted Christ as your saviour. You are now embarking on a wonderful journey and I can tell you that you will never be the same!
