Jacob Dawnson was given by his Father the land that has been past down from generation to generation. He rose early in the morning knowing this would be the first time he would plant the seeds and soon he will see a harvest. All his life his father prepared him for this moment. He can remember his Father’s words even now, “Son be careful where you sow the seeds. Do not get distracted by minor things. Each seed is important. Plant it, take care of it and never underestimate the value of a good harvest.”

Jacob headed out to the field but the sun began to fall hard upon his face and all he wanted was a nice, cooling ice tea upon the veranda. So, Jacob hurried up his job without not looking where he planted the seeds. Some seed fell along the path where birds ate them. Some fell on rock and when the crop grew it withered because there was no moisture in the soil. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew and choked the plants. Still there was some that fell on good soil.

Jacob was disappointed by his crop because if he paid careful attention and obeyed his Father’s words he would had a hundred times more. The next season Jacob Dawnson was ready to take a risk again. He knew he must pay attention because this crop would be his last chance to prove he can take care of his Father’s land. Each seed Jacob planted carefully and delicately. Everyday he would go out and check on the plants. He began to enjoy the times he had in the fields. He watch each plant grow and mature. Soon it will be harvest time. Jacob remember again his father’s words. ” When you plant the seeds in the right soil soon you will have a harvest plentiful to feed thousands. But sometimes the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.”

Jacob realized he needed help. So he went to gather all those who were willing to help. Not many wanted to help because it wasn’t a paid position. There was only a few willing men and women who took the time and all together they gathered a harvest that could feed every person in the world.
