I LOVE Cambodia!
The people, the food,
and the weather are all amazing!
I love the changes that have occurred this month:
I myself have
changed, the teams have all switched up, and the type of ministry we’re doing
is completely new to me.
Which brings me to my
brothers.
I LOVE my brothers!
My team (Spare
Ribs…more on this later) is working with Teen Challenge this month in a tiny
town about 1 1/2 hours outside of Cambodia’s capital – Phnom Penh. You may have
heard of Teen Challenge before. They are ALL over the United States, and now
within 90 countries around the world.
Teen Challenge is a
rehab center for boys and men who are recovering drug addicts. It’s a year long
program, that focuses not only on their physical restoration and freedom, but every other aspect of their lives as well, including spiritual. Right now there are 26 men at the center.
It’s amazing to see
how these men have been transformed from violent, angry drug addicts/dealers, to
joyful, loving, and serving men of God!
Our first day at the
center we shared our stories, about how God transformed our lives. They were so
touched by this, that one by one, several of them shared their own stories. We
were touched in return by just how amazing God is in drawing and saving His children!
We spend most of our
time at the center, getting to know the men, teaching Bible studies and
English, and farming and playing sports with them. We also eat all of our meals
there, so we’re basically there all day. I love just living life with them, and
getting to know them.
On Christmas day we are going to throw a party at Teen Challenge, complete with decorations, snacks, and a movie (we’re hoping to find How the Grinch Stole Christmas…)! I’ll post a video after Christmas, so you can join us in all the fun! 😉
Merry Christmas!!
