“Sometimes change has to happen in order for change to happen”
Even today as I reread those words, the weight of the truth and reality in them hits me just as hard as the first time I saw them. I guess that’s what happens when you allow certain ideas to shape your perspective, right?
Change.
If the Lord has made one thing clear to me in this season of squad leading, it’s that change is inevitable, and at times…completely necessary. Necessary for me. Necessary for my squad.

Change.
Squad leading doesn’t look anything like I expected it to…like I wanted it to. It changed even before I left for India. It changed for me, my co-leader(s), and my squad. It changed from what I wanted it to be, to what I needed it to be. And it’s because of that last line that I can write this from a place in my life where I’m completely overwhelmed by the sovereignty of the Father. It’s because of that line that I can write this being led by love and running towards the hope that His goodness is always going to be there at the end of the road.

Change.
You see, when change comes up…you and I have a choice. We can either be a people who run from it in fear, or we can be a people who run to it in faith. And isn’t that the only two options in every situation we face? That we can choose to trust that His goodness will be there waiting on us or we can believe that it won’t be? Sure, it’s scary…but isn’t even the possibility of tasting His goodness worth the risk?
Change.
Whether you and I face unknown and unexpected change…hard, trying or heartbreaking change…or we face joyful and change worth celebrating…we don’t always have to look at change in a negative light. Because at the end of the day, the words at the top are still true…sometimes change just has to happen in order for it to happen. No matter how much we may desire things to remain the same.

Change.
It’s an opportunity for every single person to carry a ‘yes’ in their spirit and welcome all that may stand before them. It’s an opportunity to walk with a spirit of gratitude. It’s an opportunity to run to something exciting in love and see and learn something new.
Change…it’s an invitation. It’s at times, a sign of something better to come if choose to press in.

God is good. So good. You and I may never fully understand His goodness, but we must learn to keep our hearts and minds open to the truth that Jesus understands us. That He knows how our minds work, but He also knows what we need…what we truly need. And that alone is miraculous enough for me to believe in His goodness and that change can be good.
Change.
Sometimes it has to happen in order for it happen…
“I believe that I shall look upon the GOODNESS of the Lord in the land of the living!” – Psalm 27:13
Squad leading T-Squad has already been one of the most life changing experiences of my life. Walking alongside this group has been so beautiful and the way they shower me [and everybody] with love and grace is something that has completely reshaped how I see Jesus.
Being able to invest and pour into them is one of the greatest honors of my life and I couldn’t thank you all for the support and love that you, my readers, have given me as I continue to be able to do this life that He’s called me to.
I still have funds that I need to raise [$6500 total]– not only to stay on the field, but so that I’ll be able to come back out for a couple weeks and encourage and love on these sweet lovers of Jesus.
If you want to be able to join and partner up with me, you can do so by CLICKING HERE. Any and all donations are tax-deductible and help me continue to be out loving the least of these.
