David was out in the desert longing for God. Only He alone can satisfy our deepest longings!
Please LORD let me operate in this life, as if I am always in YOUR presence…. because I am!
I have to start out with my Friday night Bible study group (I wish I had a picture of all of them to share with you, I will work on that). This group of young adults is passionately, courageously committed and in LOVE with God! I joined this group about six weeks ago, and it was undoubtedly God's plan! For some time I had been praying for a way to get involved with a young adult ministry and He lead me to a group that I fell, head over heels, in love with! We are lead by a young woman, Lezlie, and her husband Ray who is in Afghanistan right now. Talk about a TEACHER and a mentor! How do I begin to capture how committed Lezlie is to this group of young adults? God has blessed her not only with the ability to learn His word and apply it in such a beautiful way, but to really motivate others to read, study and learn the history of His word! I love every minute I get to be around her because she has a light that shines so bright you just want to be a part of her love for God! Two weeks ago Logan, who is an incredible leader and who seriously lives out God’s command to die to ourselves and live in Christ's will, challenged our group to live and pray intentionally, and sacrifice the desires of our flesh in order to grow closer to the Lord. He started teaching us about Intimacy with God through Prayer. Logan asked our group some pretty deep questions, but the one that really struck a chord in me was "What are the things you can do in your relationship with God to build and sustain intimacy?" I sat and really wondered if I had ever built an intimacy with God. I tell Him things and ask Him for things, but have I ever prayed and listened for His response? Intentionally listened? How selfish and one sided had my relationship been?
Logan explained the different elements that built an intimacy with God. After he did we prayed over two people, and I mean hands on, in prayer and worship! It was incredible! I felt the Spirit and the love just enveloping this group. Let’s just say since that night God has been showing off! I say that with the biggest smile ever because the Lord had obviously been waiting for us to pray with expectant hearts. God has undeniably changed each of our lives in the past two weeks. I am so in awe. There is no single word that can describe His love, but HE HAS ME. For the rest of my life He has my heart, in every way possible!! Every day since that night I have prayed and just adored God, confessed to Him to help me come to Him with a clean heart, thanked Him for everything He is to me, poured my heart out to Him, and then listened patiently. I have never been so fulfilled and in love than I am in this moment. Thinking about the future with Him is an indescribable feeling!
