Lord,
Talking with my team this last week I have seen such strength through their trials. I pray that You hold each of them in a special way these next 6 months, prepare all of us for Your journey. Help us to come to You for everything. Lord I ask that You hold the families of all the racers close as I know this is not easy for any family to let their children go out into the world, but I pray that You show them that You will be our guardian and our strength through these 11 months, give them peace with this Lord. I ask that You bless the 60 people groups of Guatemala that have not been ministered to in Your name. I ask that You guide evangelical leaders from both Mayan and Spanish-speaking communities as they work toward the healing of their nation. Help them to spread Your word to these groups that are unreached! In Your name I pray.

A fellow teammate posted a link that brought me to tears this week. Sex trafficking is so real and and after reading this experience written by a young woman my age hurts my heart. I can't even imagine the lengths my family would go to to if I was kidnapped, and knowing that some children don't have anyone fighting for them. There are ways to help. My hope for this coming mission is not that I will be overwhelmed, but that I will realize one person can help. I couldn't stand in front of a trafficked 5-year-old and say, “I’m not doing anything to help you because there are 27 million others like you out there and that number’s too huge and I’m too small. Your individual life is not precious enough for me to help.” That child is not just a number she is one of God’s children.
