“I am unashamed, I won’t hide your name, so all the world will know that you are all that I live for!”
Love Building 429 and just the other day I saw them in concert and it was super great, I recommend it! That is not what I am here to talk about though.
My friend Becca Oakley ( go check her out because she rocks ) has gotten confirmation after confirmation about going on the World Race. I wasn’t jealous per-say, I was just hurt. I’ve asked on many occasions to have some sort of confirmation that this is where I need to be. I’ve never gotten it, meanwhile Becca has loads of it.
On Sunday, I asked the Lord during worship time at 9 o’clock service for some confirmation at any 3 services. I said ” Lord please, I have not yet received any confirmation and I need it. I ask that during any of these 3 services you give me that.” Then the final song for worship came on. Confirmation #1. ” Through the storm, He is Lord, Lord of all.” Those words have always hit me hard, however they hit me harder than ever on Sunday. I knew that those lyrics were meant for me.
After singing, our associate Pastor Preston ( Our pastor was doing a wedding in Ohio) started the sermon. The topic of the sermon was ” What’s the matter?” he went on on how we are distracted, nearsighted and in our comfort zone. It was clear from the beginning that this sermon would be something the Holy Spirit wants me to listen to. He got to the last point, We are in our comfort zone.
Immediately that hit me because if anyone knows me, I am full of anxiety and worry so therefore I dont ever take risks… I live in my comfort zone. Joshua 1:9 appeared on the screen.
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
Confirmation #2. I knew at that exact moment the Holy Spirit was talking to me. Even my friend Becca knew and acknowledged that was part of my confirmation. Comfort zones are my thing but it was a nice remembering that I may be afarid to do this, but it is okay because the Lord is with me.
SIDE THOUGHT: I’ve been stepping out of my comfort zone to contact people individually. I do not like asking for money or asking for people to help, I never have. So as much as this situation makes us both uncomfortable, ignoring me is not the way to do it. I would much rather you tell me an awkward no, than to be ignored and seeing you on social media five minutes later. At least acknowledge me. Even moral support is good support.
OKAY BACK TO IT:
Preston then had a photo of Becca and I on his slideshow. He told us we are doing something and filling our lives with things that matter. It was super nice to hear that people love what we are doing. Confirmation #3 To know that we were a thought in his sermon before he even spoke was so relieving. People really appreciate us and the thing we are doing.
I now have some confirmation that this is exactly where I need to be. Money may be rough, and accepting it may be even more rough but this is happening! I know not to fear because the Lord has my back and he has overcame the world. I am to be obedient to his telling and He will provide.
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
