About year ago I received a message from a friend of mine. Erica wrote me saying that her and her family would like to donate to my trip. I was so excited and even more so when I read what they were donating. My two friends (Erica and Maria) that I cheered with in highschool started a business called "God is everything" They design shirts, bracelets, and scarves that encourage you to think what or who God is to you. Erica told me they would like to give some shirts from God is Everything.
Before I knew it I was tearing open the package and praying over the things that were given to me. I asked God to show me who these shirts belonged to. After several months on the race I began to get a little discouraged. I was frustrated that the Lord hadn't prompted me to give the shirts to anyone. 3 months passed, then 5..6..7.. then finally month 8. Month 8 in Bangkok, Thailand I met many ladyboys and women through the ministry we partenered with. Dton Naam ministries gave me the opportunity to work with Thai students who were learning English, dance, and how to bake cupcakes and make coffee. These students stole my heart. They were all full of life and I loved hearing each of their stories of how they found Dton Naam. Each person I met through Dton Naam had a unique story. My last few days with the students I knew the shirts belonged to two of the girls I had met. I was ecstatic!
Our last night with our family in Bangkok we had a dinner and all exchanged gifts. As I watched the girls open the gifts I gave them I was touched by their reaction. Immediately the girls scream, get up, and take off. For a moment I was worried they were'nt coming back. Then I see them with their new shirts on. They went to the bathroom to change into them. Seeing the girls joy brought tears to my eyes. A big thanks to Erica and Maria for blessing me and these women thousands of miles away. I will always remember that special moment in Thailand!
