This is going to be a blog mainly for girls but boys feel more than welcome to readJ. Recently I have been having many conversations where girls have been saying “I just want to be pursued”….”Why is that so much to ask for”. I feel as though this question is rooted deeper, as girls we are almost from birth placed in a position where we want to be pursued by a male figure. At birth we want to be pursued and loved by our fathers we want them to protect us and love us with every thing they have to give. Then we reach elementary where it becomes a game to have that first boy tell you his has a crush on you and chase you around on the playground. Then we get to middle school and as girls we want to be pursued and liked by boys and asked to that first “dance”. Then we reach high school and we want to be pursued by the cute boy at school and it is almost a race to see who gets him first out of your group of girl friends. Girls when you look back to sleep over’s or you think back to what you talked about at lunch if was always boys…boys and boys.
Somewhere we lost sight of the greatest Love…the greatest pursuit….the greatest romance of all times! We are always searching for that perfect love on earth. We are looking for the pursuit on earth in order to feel self worth or satisfaction, we don’t realize that earthly pursuit is only temporary but the love and the pursuit of God is eternal. God has been in love with you before you were even created, he was in love with you even when you were not falling in love w/ him, God does not have a conditional love, God does not chose to love just the popular girl at school, God does not chose to love the girl who to so many seems “perfect” because you are his creation he always said you were perfect!
“So the Lord must wait for you to come to him
So he can show you his love and compassion
For the lord is a faithful God
Blessed are those who wait for his help.” Isaiah 30:18
I feel as though many girls have been disillusioned and they have lost site of the perfect love and that is God. I was talking with a friend the other day when she was making the comment about how she could not wait to be pursued by that “perfect guy”. I just looked at her because it just clicked in my head. We already for 24 years ( or however old you may be) have been pursued by the most perfect love. I just want all of us to realize that…for you to “rejoice in the divine romance”. I know many of you have heard the song “Beautiful” by Bethany Dillon but I just love the last few verses of the song…..
You make me beautiful
You make me stand in awe
You step inside my heart, and I am amazed
I love to hear You say
Who I am is quite enough
You make me worthy of love and beautiful
Don’t you see girls! God thinks you are beautiful. He stands in AWE of you and is beyond AMAZED. He doesn’t think you need to be different he already thinks you are enough! Because he LOVES you…you are WORTHY OF EARTHLY LOVE!
