Searching For Food

A couple weeks ago Amy and I wanted to make a memory. We used our late night hunger to go out and find one. Sunday night a little after 11 PM. We drove up, down, and around University Blvd. to only find cheap tacos and a couple places that we've been to at least 100 times.

Changing routes we drove to the Waterford Lakes area. Nothing. After our last ditch effort, driving by Chipotle, we noticed our chances of finding food were slimming. It was 11:55 PM. We sped to the Pollo Tropical hoping it wouldn't close on us.

We made it! Now with food, we racked our minds on pinpointing a semi-romantic spot to eat.

Directly in our line of sight, from the drive-through, was a Twistee Treat with blue picnic tables.

Meeting John, The Homeless Man

Finally, time to eat! We pulled in and gathered our food to sit. That's when we saw an older man stopped on his bike waiting and staring at us in our car.

Immediately, I started saying negative and fearful comments. "What if he's crazy?" "Should we give him money?" "We shouldn't have come here." "Want to leave?"

Stillness entered the car. I asked Jesus "Did you send him?"

Conviction entered my spirit. I stepped out of the car and approached the man with a huge smile "Good evening sir, how are you doing tonight?" He responded while showing me his hands full of coins. "I have little money and I'm hungry. Can I buy your food from you?" I felt my heart break into pieces.

Covering his palms with my left hand, I extended my warm meal to him. "This is for you. Would you like me to pray for us?" He said "I'll pray" He put his hands over me. "Thank you Lord for my daily bread and blessing us with your Love."

He said a simple and powerful prayer. The kind of prayers Jesus likes.

Reflecting

Once digging into Amy's meal we tasted supernatural ingredients, we're sure of it. Manna probably being the main ingredient because the meal tasted way better than any regular chicken and the beans were extremely filling.

I looked at Amy and said "I think we got our memory."
