That’s right NEW countries!
When getting accepted to the World Race I felt called to Route 2 (R Squad or Blue Squad): China, Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Romania, Serbia/Bulgaria, and Albania. I have prayed over this route, over these countries, and over my teammates. I asked God to put me wherever He wants me to do His work even if that means changing routes. Earlier this year we had a scare when all our countries changed completely! I didn’t realize how attached I was to these countries until they were all gone. As my team mates and I mourned over the countries that were no longer part of our route I realized how selfish that was. This was a wakeup call.
This isn’t my Race it’s His.
Turns out something was wrong with the website and all the countries got mixed up. Either way I’m glad it happened because I needed that reality check.
Wednesday morning of last week we received an email explaining that they were dropping route 2 due to the lack of people signed up for that route. We then were told we had until 11am on Thursday Morning to email in our preferred order of the remaining 3 July routes…WHAT you mean I’m supposed to pick a route in less than 24 hours when it took me weeks to decide which route to originally pick?! Needless to say I was freaking out a bit. But after a few breaths I knew that this is ultimately in Gods Control and He has a plan. “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” –Jeramiah 29:11
It was bitter sweet.
Yes I was excited for my previous countries. I’ve planned for them. I was comfortable with them. Honestly having China first was a relief because if I forgot something in the States I could just pick it up in China haha.
But on the other hand I’m not going on this trip to be comfortable I’m sleeping on a pad for 11 months for goodness sake! I think a route change is the least of my worries. This change actually makes me excited because I asked Him to change my route to where He wanted to use me. Who knows what he has in store on this new route!
I WILL NOW BE TRAVELING TO: Albania, Romania, Malawi, Zambia, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, & Chile.
I am part of the R Squad going on Route 1.
The countries might change but one thing remains the same Jesus.
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” -Hebrew 13:8
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” –Joshua 1:9
Blessings,
