I have been wanting to post this blog for a while but haven’t had good enough internet.  But NOW I get to introduce you to a few of the different forms of banana foods we had in Uganda.  I didn’t get to capture all of them, but these are a good sampling.  I never knew the banana could be used in so many ways and I LOVED it.  Enjoy!

One form of the fried banana

“Matoke”: a cooked banana mush that tastes like nothing really

Another form of matoke. In this type the banana stays whole and is cooked with some veggies.  And, in my opinion, is much tastier than the mush kind. (Neither of these are sweet or have a banana taste)

The banana chip…probably the best banana chip I’ve ever eaten 🙂

Ugandans called these pancakes, we referred to them as banana muffies or banana pucks.  These were one of my favorite banana products.

Mmk these bananas were cooked and kind of had an apple cinnamon taste…they were delicious (despite the flies nesting on them…)

Though you can’t see very well, she is holding a basket of a different type of fried banana that had a potato-ish taste

Aaand the regular banana.  These were the largest I have seen ever….and though I don’t have more pictures there are way mmore types of regualr bananas than I thought possible.  So don’t be decieved into thinking there are jsut the ones they sell at Walmart!

Thank you for reading and humoring me with this one.  Love you guys and thanks always for your prayers!
