Umm hi, get excited. This is like two blogs in one week. I’m getting crazy here. I actually realized that I hadn’t told you guys about the church we’ve been going to the past two Sundays. It is a Chinese, Christian church and let me tell you, these people are full of JOY. It is a very small congregation (like 10 people at the most) but but they make up for it in the Spirit π The first day we went in at 10:30 and didn’t leave until close to 3. Also, you know how I mentioned the feeling of always being in a nail salon? Well imagine that but in the form of the highest pitch song you can imagine, and that was the hour long worship session. They also have a ten minute “praying in the Spirit”/speaking in tongues sesh (apparently they all do it) and then a minimum hour long sermon. And my personal favorite, is the Spirit flag they get to waving, when they are really feling it π Now, it might seem like I am making fun of this sweet little church, but it is quite the opposite. They are so awesome and friendly and we all had a great/different/funny worship experience π
Another thing we’ve come to learn on the World Race is that locals think that we, as white missionaries, have a special, direct line to God and we walk around in a beam of His light and knowledge. SO we always get to speak at services and whatnot π It was my turn this last Sunday and I was struggling with what I wanted to say because my testimony, in comparison to others, is a bit short. But as I was thinking about my life over the past year, I knew I had been choosing myself and the world over Jesus and realized I was the definition of a “lukewarm” Christian…which sucks. But yet He still chose me to represent Him, to be Jesus to people all around the world. Crazy right? Not only did He choose me for this, He enticed me and used the desires of my heart (in this case, travel) to draw me out. So I got to talk about that and His faithfulness and the fact that He wants us and wants to use us, no matter what state we are in. So maybe that will be an encouragement to you as well. I love you guys, thanks for being with me π
Also, I mentioned in my last blog about a monkey attack…here’s a short video of what went down.
And remember to keep up with Team Gozo, pictures HERE.
