Imagine if you will for a moment, that you don't know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. That you don't know how much God loves you and how much He wants you to love Him back. That you don't have a personal relationship with your Father, the one who loves you no matter who you are, no matter what you do, no matter your past, no matter your thoughts, no matter your struggles; He loves you. The Father that pursues you everyday, who pursues a deep, loving relationship with your. The Father who knows everything about you, how many hairs are on your head, every thought you have ever had, everything you have ever done, everything you are doing right now, and even everything you will do in the future; things you don't even know about. The Father who had never left you, even in the hardest of times when you thing He isn't there, and will never leave you. The Father that you praise when something amazing happens at work, and pray to for guidance when you don't know what to do or need the strength of to proceed.
A life without all of that would SUCK, wouldn't it? Where would we find our worth? Where would we go to find the kind of love we deserve and desire? Who would we worship? Where would we go for support or guidance?
Answer: The World
The same world where people live to work instead of work to live. The same world where we put all of our worth in what job we have or the girl/guy we are dating or what we are doing this Friday night. Where we find love in meaningless or abusive relationships, where it isn't actually the love we deserve. Where we worship, well the world, we worship money, we worship the relationships we have, we worship the jobs we have, we worship the gadgets we own, and we worship so many other worthless things. Where we go to our family and friends for some support and some guidance but it's not always good support or guidance and it's not always out of love for us.
What would be out purpose in this world? Why would we exist? Honestly, we wouldn't have one. Without God we would have no true worth, we would produce no fruit, we would not know true joy. Without God, we are nothing.
God gives us all of this!
Our worth, the love we deserve and desire, the support and guidance we need, and even our purpose in this world. We find true worth, we produce fruit, we know true joy! All He asks of us is to love Him, pursue a relationship with Him, and further His kingdom by spreading His word. That is our purpose, grow closer to Him and make disciples.
