The anticipation of training camp had been building for quite some time. June 8, 2016 finally arrived and Papa would begin to rock my world yet again.
Training camp was one “L” of a ride. “L” for L Squad, Love Squad, my new family. I can’t even begin to put into words how impactful spending 10 days in the wilderness with my squad was. My squad mates have done a phenomenal job of capturing those days through writing and videos that you can view here.
One thing I did take away from camp was the power of saying “Yes.” Whether that was yes to cold bucket showers, yes to reopening wounds I thought were healed, or yes to praying in the dead of night.
“Yes” is what my squad mates and I said to one another at the end of the ten days. YES, I will do life with you for 11 months. YES, I will challenge and encourage you to become the sons and daughters our Papa calls us to be. YES, God, I will be your messenger to spread the Kingdom. YES, God I will Love others as you love me.
Yes, God, I am ALL IN. Not getting my feet wet, but diving in.
Saying Yes showed the strength and courage in L Squad to be vulnerable. Saying yes showed how trusting we are even though we just met each other a few days ago.
And that’s when it dawned on me….
God invites us into this relationship with a Yes. Not a maybe, or ‘if you complete these tasks I will welcome you with open arms.’ He takes us as we are and slowly moves us along into deeper things.
So my darling, I hear him say: Yes, I love you. Yes, I will protect you. Yes, I will guide you. Yes, I will comfort you. Yes, I intricately put your squad together. Yes, I have plans for you.
So, this battle to say Yes to God really boils down to one thing – Faith.
God may be calling you to say yes to –
a new relationship
a new job
a new family
an in-between time
seek out an opportunity
walk through a valley
make small or big changes
a new way of being
a new season of life.
Whatever it may be, I encourage you to move beyond life as you know it and step into the freedom of faith.
How is God calling you to say Yes?
Cheers,
Kels
