Hola Amigos!
Just want to start this off by saying thank you so much for all of the prayers, encouragement, and financial support I have gotten thus far for my journey on the World Race. I am almost to my first goal of fundraising! Literally in awe of how our Father provides and thankful He has stirred people’s hearts to give to this mission.
Although I am almost to my first goal, I do want to be real and raw for just a moment. Fundraising has been an intimidating but humbling process. I am having to constantly remind myself that this is going to be a different process for each one of us. God is teaching different lessons to my teammates and I through fundraising and I think this is one of those first steps to our growth throughout the year as a team. I think fundraising is a quick way for Satan to try and make us feel defeated and pit each other against one another by comparing yourself to who has raised what. So I think it’s important to identify that early on and go ahead and show Satan the door. Which I gladly did and know I will have to do that a lot over the course of the next 11 months. What’s even better is God’s got this!
Not only do I know that God has this but I also have an amazing team who supports and encourages one another. One of the gals on my team said, “Work as if everything depends on you and pray as if everything depends on the Lord.” Can I get an Amen?! The first part of this motto is something I have been able to relate to for a long time but over the years I have become more attuned with no matter how hard I work, I can’t do anything without God. With that being said I have had to trust and surrender to him through this fundraising process. Literally having to wake up every morning handing it off to him because it will consume my thoughts and then I really will never be productive. And sure enough, little by little He has graciously provided.
One of the ways He has stirred me to fundraise is to fundraise for each country I will be in. So without further ado, I am excited to announce and show my fundraising design for Shirts 4 Suriname!
