This Christmas was without a doubt the most satisfying Christmas I have ever experienced.

Serving Heart of Christ with Gracie and Papi Lee in Talanga, Honduras is always unforgettable, in my opinion, for many reasons. From building relationships to the crazy testimonies of the Lord’s faithfulness if you are able to look at it all with the eyes of your heart it really does reveal the true meaning of this beautiful season.

I couldn’t believe what my ears heard when Gracie told me their ministry had received over 5,000 gifts this year from various donors to hand out to children all over the surrounding villages. how amazing. God truly loves and delights in reaching his people through human agency.

Probably the most significant memory I have out of the 8 hours that we drove around one day to pass out the remaining fifteen hundred gifts is of one little boy in particular. The anonymous ten year old approached the truck and took his goodie bag that was filled with some candy, a simple toy airplane which he quickly assembled, and a brief message in Spanish explaining that this tangible gift is a representation of the love of Christ. As Papi Lee, Jessica, and I were waiting, with bags in hand, for other children to come we heard a cheerful and very sincere “WOO HOO!” The three of us turn our heads to where the boy who had just received his gift sat on the porch of a very near house. We could see his face through his crooked glasses as it beamed with pure excitement from playing with his new airplane.

Joy in the simple.

There is something so profound about the act of giving. Whether it be time, money, resources, gifts or just your heart the giver himself, though he be empty handed, is never left empty.

Thank you for those of you who donated and made such an amazing month of outreach possible for the ministry of Heart of Christ. It really was a beautiful picture of the body of Christ himself coming together from all across America to display his love in such a practical way.

Your giving and donations not only blessed the thousands of children who received a gift but all of those who were a part of the distributing were just as blessed in the opportunity of handing those gifts out.

What a sweet honor it is for all of us to be the hands and feet-in all the various ways-of Jesus. We can all agree in one faith that to Him, whom all these things are possible to witness, be the glory and praise forever.
