Hello Friends!
My Name is Kelsey Kirkpatrick and I am so pumped to be going on The World Race in 2014!! Come July, I will be traveling to the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Honduras, Guatemala, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Philippines, Thailand, Laos, and last but not least ending the year in Cambodia. A little bit about what I “do:” I am currently a senior at The University of Texas at San Antonio (whoop whoop GO RUNNERS!) studying Interdisciplinary Studies and certification in EC-6 (basically I want to be a teacher at the elementary level) and will be graduating in May of 2014. The past five years have gone by incredibly fast! I live with three awesome girls-Jackie, Cassie, and Lindsey-who all love Jesus. My home church is in Spring Branch, TX called The Crossing Baptist Church. The people there are full of grace & truth and are just practical people who live humble lives seeking to know Jesus more. I have been going there for a little over a year and absolutely love every minute of serving there. I love my dad, my mom, and younger sister who have all been so supportive of each of my successes, failures, and decisions. I also coach a volleyball team in San Marcos-one of the most amazing group of girls I’ve ever had the privilege to coach and of course, I love them so much!!
About me personally-I pretty much enjoy every thing that I do. Every person in my life has impacted me some way or another, big and small, but the most important relationship that I treasure is that with my Savior. My heart loves and will always love Jesus Christ because of His mercies and unconditional love. I seek to know Truth and walk with Him daily. I’m grateful for all the people that I get to do life with. I love learning and teaching. I’m a very passionate person when it comes to most anything. I’m a believer and a huge dreamer. I love listening to, writing, and finding new music. I’m grateful, outgoing, thoughtful, crazy and sometimes awkward but somewhere in the midst of all of that is this deep rooted desire to live life intentionally and to its fullest potential. I enjoy physical fitness-running, biking, lifting, kayaking and mainly anything outside. I love rainy days that are spent inside drinking tea with friends and watching romantic comedies. I love thought provoking conversation and inquiring. I love challenges, learning things the hard way, and taking paths that are less traveled. I believe in the power of prayer and that everything happens for a reason. I love worship and seek to worship in all that I do. If you are reading this and I have not met you I hope that you know how much your existence matters and makes a difference. Therefore, I am grateful for you. Those of you reading who do know me, thank you for the ways the Lord has used you to change and shape me into the person that I am. Please know how eternally grateful I am for your life and love you dearly!
“You make known to me the path of life; In Your presence there is fullness of Joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Psalm 16:11
