Here’s a quick recap of my time in India:

My team and I spent the month living with a pastor and his family, along with the ten orphan girls they are raising, in their church/children’s home. Their home is in a tiny village in southern Andhra Pradesh, in a jungle area. We slept in our tents (to keep the mosquitoes away!) in the large room on the second floor they use as a sanctuary.

It took a lot of adjusting to get used to the food, culture, and language differences, but we had a great month! Each day we ate traditional Indian food (which included plenty of curry!) for breakfast and lunch at home, prepared for us by our wonderful pastor’s wife. In the evenings, we piled into a small vehicle and drove to nearby villages. Some of the villages had never had white visitors before, and some of the people we visited were tribal Indians.

When we arrived in a village, we would usually meet the local pastor and walk around the village for a few hours. We greeted people we met and visited people’s homes, inviting them to our meeting and praying for them. Then we would host a meeting in the church (which was sometimes someone’s backyard). We sang praise songs, preached the Gospel, and shared our testimonies. After the service we would pray for whoever came to us for prayer. Sometimes we would pray hundreds of prayers each day! Even though we often had a hard time communicating and knowing what was happening around us, we know God was moving through us. We saw Him moving this month, and it was exciting to be a part of it!

November has become a month of big changes. I have a new team, Team Asha! My 5 new teammates are beautiful, strong women, and I am excited to see how we can grow each other in the coming months!

My squad has also had some route changes. We are no longer going to Kenya, Uganda, or Rwanda. Instead, we are going to Swaziland, South Africa, and China!

In this month of Thanksgiving, I want to say I am so grateful for all the prayers, love, and support I have received throughout my Race so far! Thank you to everyone! I hope I am able to have enough free time and Internet to post blogs more frequently in the future, but I am doing my best! Thanks for reading!
