10/30/2014 The In-Between again
Change is hard for many people, especially when you are not in charge/involved in changes involving your own life. I think change makes people nervous, I know it does me. I start to question everything. Will it work out? What if I fail? What if so-and-so doesn’t like me? Am I qualified for this? These are just some of the many questions I ask myself when I deal with changes.
This past week has been full of changes. I left Shelter of Love in Cambodia in Asia as part of Aperture; and I now lay in a bed in a hostel in Swaziland, Africa as part of The Free Birds, an all girls team.
That’s a lot of change for about 48 hours. Not only am I in a new continent, country, time zone and culture, I’m doing life daily with 5 new people.
We leave in a few hours for our ministry site. Am I nervous? Yes. Excited? Yes. Ready? I hope so. Willing?Yes. I know God has great plans for my team and I. I’m excited to get to know these ladies and to grow in our relationships with Jesus.
My sweet friend, Jaci gave me a card before I left that reminded me of Proverbs 3:5-6 and trusting the Lord with ALL your heart. It is a great reminder in my time of changes and uncertainty to remember who is in control. Therefore, I choose to trust Him in the midst of all the change.
