I feel like a kid again (although I never really claim being an adult.) Getting ready for camp was so much fun when we were younger. Packing was fun, the excitement for summer, the ride to camp, passing that one gas station and you knew you were almost there – everything about camp was super exciting.

Well this week has been exciting as well. I have freaked out about something or other almost every day, but God has provided friends and family, near and far to help calm me down. It is hard packing for a week in a 60L pack – I have no idea how I will pack for 11 months. I talked to one of my squad-mates and we discussed the essentials we need – and you really don’t need much. But I like to be prepared, it is my ‘type a’ personality. When I make lists (and I LOVE lists) I get down to the details, how many pairs of this and that and what colors etc. So my list was kinda long due to details, but I got it all in there. Once I got it all in my pack, my pack was so awkward! I took everything out and started again! I was able to make my tent about half the size – be impressed John, Johnny and Russ since you just ‘supervised’ the first time I put it up. And then got everything back in. I was still freaking out and thankfully Amber came over to help me stuff more stuff.

So that has been my week. I am so thankful for everyone who has listened to me vent (there are too many to list, but know I love you!), the Williams’ for the tarp, orange clothes, and encouragement, Candi and her family for letting me stay on my layover, and everyone else who supports me and prays.

Please pray for me, my squad (G squad) and all other July squads as we will meet each other, most for the first time Saturday at camp. Please pray that relationships form, we are able to share and be there for one another, we (mainly me) survive the humidity, and we have a great time learning about God and each other. Please keep F squad in your prayers as well as they lost a squad-mate a week ago to a car wreck.

I promise to post more after camp!

Love y’all 🙂
