Happy February! It is hard to believe we are in the second month of 2014, but time flies when you are having fun. 
One thing I did learn in school was alliteration (thanks English teachers!), and with that in mind, I am declaring this Fundraising February!!! I am really close to my first goal, which is $3500 in my account and my plane ticket to Training Camp by April. I currently have around $3200 in my World Race account and have been able to purchase my backpack and sleeping bag.

Thank you for all your support. I know many have been lifting up this journey in prayer, others are encouraging me, and others are able to help financially. This month, there are several ways to help me prepare for my journey.
- Quilt Raffle: A beautiful, black and white, king size quilt has been donated by Shug to help raise funds for my trip/gear/etc. Tickets are $5 each. The drawing will be on February 27,2014.
- Food: Spaghetti Dinner on February 27, 2014 from 5:30 pm – 7 pm. Tickets are available for $8 if purchased before February 27 and $10 at the door. This will include spaghetti, salad, bread, drink and dessert. The dinner will be at the SMAC building, the corner of 9th and Utica in Plainview, TX
- T-Shirts: Fund the Nations has designed an awesome t-shirt for my race. Shirts are $20. I do have some in stock but will place an order if needed. All orders must be placed by February 28th .
- Bracelets: I have partnered with Threads of Hope to sell bracelets to raise money for my World Race. The coolest part is that 50% of the proceeds will go back to Threads of Hope for their ministry in the Philippines. Check them out at http://www.threadsofhope.com.ph/index.html
- Mary Kay: For any purchases made between now and the end of May, you will have the option of rounding up the total to the nearest dollar.
- Name my Pack: For $1 you can suggest a name for my backpack that will carry ALL my stuff for 11 months. The top 3 names will be chosen and the ‘winner’ will receive a gift card. This might seem a little weird, but I will have this pack for 11 months, it will hold everything I need for my trip. Essentially, I bought my best friend for 11 months, we will go through a LOT together, so I think my pack deserves a name!

Please know I am EXTREMELY thankful for any and all support. God isn’t just sending me on this mission, but my family and friends. It will take lots of prayer and support for all of us to make it through the World Race.
