Pastor can we go visit her at the hospital?
Visit who?
The woman who died.
You would like to go see the baby?
No… We want to visit the woman who died.
…….You mean you want to see the body?
Hey guys… I think He thinks we're crazy.
Last week Krystle, Madisson and I visited a woman in the hospital. She had just delivered a baby and she wasn't doing well after her C-section. We prayed for her and for her baby and then we left. This morning we found out that the woman had died.
When we asked the pastor if we could visit her we didn't want to see the body- we wanted to see the woman. We wanted her to breath again. We wanted her to wake up. We wanted God to raise her from the dead and we believed it would happen. The three of us spent the morning in prayer. We believe in miracles and we've been praying for them. We truly believed that according to our faith it would be done for us (Matthew 9). We believed she was alive.
He thought we were crazy. Maybe we are crazy. The thing is, crazy doesn't seem like such a bad thing to me anymore. I've always claimed to serve an insanely powerful God but I haven't always acted like it. I've wasted a whole lot of time expecting ordinary things out of an extraordinary God.
Some of my friends worried that if I went on this trip I'd go crazy. I'd become one of those crazy Christians. Fortunately, I have. I've developed some crazy faith. I've got blind, childlike, don't-care-how-ridiculous-it-sounds faith. People on my squad have seen insane things. They've seen people divinely healed, they've seen demons cast out, they've seen miracles and I'm going to too.
If you're reading this and you're thinking that I've gone crazy then maybe you're right but think about it- maybe you should too.
