Where do you begin?
How do you even begin talking to women like this ?
They were sick
widowed
poor
and grief stricken.
So how do you, having never walked in their shoes, encourage them? You don’t.
God does.
These women followed us around the village while we shared the Gospel with people in Côte D’lvoire. They kept asking for me to share more…they were spiritually hungry. So we sat down again, and I shared another parable.
I could never give these women hope, but the Lord could.
His Word can encourage people because it points to something greater than financial, health, marital, and emotional status. It promises the eternal, and that’s something worth rejoicing for.
We all hugged and I watched these women walk away with the biggest smiles. But it wasn’t because of anything I said or did.
God didn’t heal them or bring their children back. Their joy came from the Lord. They received MORE than earthly wealth. These women were smiling because they knew Gods love, and in that alone they had Hope.
His love is more than enough. That’s what this is all about.
We’re not here to manufacture it, we’re just here to share it.
