DAY FIVE / #FortyDayFloodOfLove

Invisible People

Sara (pictured above) couldn’t wait to invite me into her home. It was one of the warmest welcomes I’ve received thus far in life.

Sara is a “gypsy” child.

I have to keep this post short because it physically pains me to write about, and the topic is entirely too complex to cover here.

But I will share one thing from my experience:
Sara was smarter, kinder-hearted, and more generous than most people I’ve met. Yet she will live most of her life being hated by people that don’t even know her name.

We, the Church, are called to love these people. The marginalized, lost, and un-welcomed.
How could our hearts not break for them?

Today is not a story about God’s love, but a chance to share it.

Pray for the Roma “Gypsies”, not tonight or tomorrow, but right now. Send up just one prayer for them.
