Sometimes in life we don’t know where we’re going.
Recently I woke up and didn’t know if I would have a roof over my head for the next night – or ten. (I’ll admit we experience a wide range of “extremes” here on the race, homelessness and all.) But whether you need Him to provide a roof over your head, a job, or even a sign that He exists, the answer is universal.
Centering yourself in His Truth will always give you direction.
I had been so caught up in trying to find my next “step”, or place to go, that I thought the problem could only be solved by me.
I was wrong. When I stepped into a place of surrender, plopped myself onto this red carpet, and surrounded myself with concrete direction – Gods direction – that’s when I found a home. I gave up researching, networking, planning, and strategizing, threw my hands in the air, and stood on solid ground.
Its funny how the equation simplifies when Jesus is your only answer.
Worry-free.
Burden-less.
Dependent on Him to provide.
This is how we are meant to live our lives.
“25Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air: They do not sow or reap or gather into barns — and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his lifespan?…” Matthew 6:26
Whether you’re on the highest mountain or in the lowest valley today, you have hope. Maybe you don’t know where you’ll sleep tonight – or maybe you’re struggling with where you’ll be in 5 years – it’s all the same.
Jesus is the answer you are looking for.
P.S.
Don’t worry, we found a home for the next 10 nights.
