I know you have heard the phrase….Giving is Receiving

….and it truly is…

but is it healing as well?

The Philippines has been a place where you can give of yourself 24/7 in any way imaginable.  There have been such a host of ways to serve this community and frankly, it has taken some careful prayer to decide where you can be most effective and not give at the expense of yourself  so that you do not have any impact at all.

I love the people here, they are so filled with joy.  The lessons in just being are incredible.  Just seeing the way they interact with each other has been awesome.  I have been so amazed to see that in a place that seems to have so little their capacity to love and share joy is so surpassed by what we as Americans display.

I have been so blessed to give of myself in a number of ways this month.  Our main ministry has been at the orphanage. I work with the little girls 3-8pm everyday but Sat.  They truly have stolen my heart.  I am so at home there!  On MWF I work at the Christian School helping Ms. Shirley with grades 1-5.  I love that too! The children here have such a beautiful light about them.  I swear I could easily bring a houseful home they are so loving and joyous.  They are smart and so quick on details.  Just like little sponges.

Kid’s International Ministries also has a feeding program where they go into the communities around Manila and feed and provide medical services every day twice a day.  At 10 am and 4 pm.  It is an incredible ministry.  The people are so
gracious and kind.  They are such an example of contentment.  They
receive and are appreciative of the goodness extended to them.  It is
so nice to f
eel like you are helping and it is appreciated.  You just wish you could do more.  Until you can, you offer awareness and you ask that everyone who sees the pictures and reads this, pray for these families.  Pray for God’s protection.  God IS in their hearts.  They DO know God and I am so thankful for the people here who have shared their ministry
with them.

When we were in New Zealand we were asked the question….

“Is God Really Enough?”

Honestly, I don’t know how you can’t look at the smiles on their faces and not answer………

                                                                            YES, HE IS

No….they don’t have all the modern conveniences…. but… they do have peace and joy…Isn’t that of more value anyway…Isn’t that what we are all seeking?

They do have people that God has reminded to remember them.

God IS caring for His people, it may look different than you and I live….. but they ARE being provided for…

He IS meeting their needs…

He IS Faithful.

For the word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he does. Ps.33:4
