Where he leads….We Will Follow…

We’re not really exactly sure where God is leading in the next month ahead, but very excited about the opportunities He is presenting.
God continually amazes us with how He uses the talents we have in surprising ways for His Glory.  Last month, some of our team got to bless El Rancho with their design graphic skills, marketing skills, and business skills in re-branding designs for El Rancho.

Our Next stop is located in the Northern territory.  I have asked everyone I have met, what does Oenpelli bring to mind to you…. most of them have said…”where?”  I have tried to explain where it is in relation to Darwin and Kakadu National Park, and then the responses I have gotten have ranged from….

“Have you seen Crocodile Dundee?, well that’s a good idea”
“Well it’s gonna be about 98 degrees during the day, and extremely humid….awww yeah and it’s rainy season…why are you going there?”
“Be careful its Crocodile Alley”
“Awww, yeah wow, that’s one of the 3 must sees in Australia…Kakadu”
“Ok, the town might have one small store and a pub, but that will be about it “
“Your lucky it’s rainy season…otherwise its a big dustbowl up there”
“It’s an Aboriginal community, they drink too much…you know they are the only indiginous people that didn’t invent the wheel…but they did invent the boomarang”

Soooo…you can see the responses have been very diverse.  All that being said, I can’t wait to get there!  We will be there and this month there will be no internet access.  So we will be unable to blog.  I have told my family I will continue to blog/email as I feel the desire and when I hit internet access it will post.  That way they and you can experience this month as I do.  When it happens, with the feelings and experiences as they happen…the only difference is….you’ll get the postings all at once.

We just received an email yesterday telling us that no hairstylist comes up there during rainy season.  They asked if I would like to, with the help of my team, be interested in setting up a mini-salon to offer services to the people of that area.  I/We were thrilled!  What an awesome opportunity to be able to bless the people of this rural area with a talent God has blessed me with.  We also found out that alot of the people have suffered with breakdowns in their immune systems which have in turn affected their kidneys.  They have a big number of people on dialysis.  I worked in dialysis before going into the hair industry.  Katie is a nurse.  As I said in earlier blogs, I KNOW my team is VERY special, all of us are really looking forward to the ways God is going to use us to serve him this next month.  Please keep our team as well as all of our families in your prayers, because they will miss us this month just as much as we will miss not being able to communicate with them.  But I Know God will bless all of us for our sacrifice for Him.
