What is your idea of   AWESOME...

Webster defines awesome as…Inspiring awe or admiration or wonder; “New York is an amazing city”; “the Grand Canyon is an awe-inspiring sight”; “the awesome complexity of the universe”; “this sea, whose gently awful stirrings seem to speak of some hidden soul beneath”- Melville; “Westminster Hall’s awing majesty, so vast, so high, so silent”.

Sometimes that might be too high of an expectation to live up to day after day.  Sometimes we need a REALITY check!  AWESOME is wonderful and we are blessed to plant the seeds of awesome, and sometimes we get to harvest someone elses’ planting…but holding out for awesome, is simply a waste of ours and most importantly God’s time.

If we just hold out for AWESOME can’t that get in the way of God using you the way HE intends to?

I see people all around longing to be used in AMAZING and AWESOME ways….

Maybe they already are and don’t even realize the benefits of their efforts….

I challenge us to not hold out in our service for that AMAZING or AWESOME moment.  God wants to use us in the simple daily events to show his greatness and willingness to serve whether the person is like us, nice to us, deserves it or not.  Jesus loved EVERYONE.  He loved SIMPLE.  He loved without judgements.  He didn’t care whether they were the same color, what their sexual orientation was, what their job was, whether they were homeless, rich, divorced, going to the right church, wrong church…he loved  us ALL.  If we never give those “other people” a chance in our lives how can we ever bless them as Jesus has blessed us.  How can we ever have any influence their lives.  How can we ever know their struggles and daily needs.  The place where we TRULY can be a servant of the Lord.   I know none of that sounds fun, all of it sounds kinda messy…but honestly that is what we are called to do.  Each and EVERY one of us, whether at home or out in the mission field.  Wherever we are, we are called to LOVE.

Because Quite simply if we do not love, we do not love God….because GOD IS LOVE. I John 4:8
