So its officially official. I’m going on The World Race in January! I’m beyond excited but a bit scared at the same time. Between now and then I need to raise roughly $17,000, and yes, you read that correctly. It’s a big number, but I know I serve a big God who will provide.

I’ll be going on route 3 leaving in January going to the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Swaziland, Botswana, and South Africa. You can find more specific info about my route here: http://www.theworldrace.org/?tab=routes&subtab=january-2015-3

I’m thrilled that God has opened this door for me to travel and serve Him at the same time. Here’s the part where y’all come in. There are a few different ways you can be supporting me as I begin this journey. First of all, pray. Be praying for my heart, that I wouldn’t be overwhelmed with the list of things that need to be taken care of before I leave, for the people I’ll be teaming up with, for the people we’ll be serving and for their hearts and lives to be impacted, that I would be able to meet each of my fundraising goals on time, and for perseverance throughout it all. Another way you can support me is to share my story by sharing my blog posts and fundraising links. The more people who hear the more doors are opened. Third way to be a part of my world race journey is to give. As I mentioned I have a whole lot of financial support to raise. I did some calculations tonight and figured out that if I can get just 170 people to donate $100 (even if it is only $20 a month for the next 5 months until I leave for training camp) I’ll reach my goal! I know some people will be able to give more than that and some people won’t be able to give that much, but if you look at it this way it is completely feasible. I know some people have asked me if there is anything they can give me other than money to help me on the world race, and yes, there are several things that I need to purchase for the trip. I’ll be posting a link to those items as well as my fundraising pages links in the near future once the list is complete. The final way I’ve thought of at the moment for y’all to be supporting me, is to share names with me of people you know who I can share my story with that would pray for me and possibly consider financially partnering with me as well. I know a lot of people, y’all know a lot of people, and between us finding at least 170 to join me in financial support shouldn’t be too difficult!

Praise Jesus for open doors and for adventures in sharing the gospel around the globe! I’m so happy to see what all God has in store for me. I know it will be a challenge and that there will be things that are really hard for me, but I also know that God will use those things to mold me and grow me. I’m so thankful for this opportunity and for all the support I’m receiving from family and friends in this endeavor!
