I have heard it said that home is, “where the heart is.” If this is true, then I have spent the past year in my homes all over the world. My heart is all over the place!
My heart is:
With the special needs orphans of Guatemala.
With the orphans at Cicrin Orphanage in Nicaragua.
With the gypsies of Romania and Turkey.
With the refugees from Gaza seeking safety in Jerusalem.
With the jungle children in Malaysia who have never seen a toothbrush.
With the children’s home in the Philippines.
With the trafficked women, men, and children throughout Asia.
With Haiti – where my future team and I will be venturing in FOUR DAYS!! (Please pray!!)
I am now realizing that my heart is also with the 25 other members of my squad. You are the BEST.
It’s GOOD to be home. I am loving seeing my family and friends and spending time with the people that I missed all year. It’s tough at times, and it can get a little weird. When I woke up and had breakfast the other day, I realized it was my first meal alone in almost a year. It’s strange.
To those of you who have followed me and supported me all year – I could never even begin to express how thankful I am that God placed such amazing people in my life.
I’ve come to the realization that I can’t have that many addresses. So, for argument’s sake, I am just going to say that home is, actually, where my mom is.
