This morning in church, there was some type of conspiracy between God and the pastor, because it seemed like she was looking and talking right to me the entire time.  I tried to avoid eye contact, but she stared me down and won the battle.  A good part of her sermon was about abandonment, and I couldn’t help but think about my wonderful team;  Team NEON.  (I feel that it is mandatory to always write “Team NEON” in obnoxiously bright colors.)  What I didn’t explain in my first post about my team was that NEON is actually an acronym.  It stands for Now Everyone Owns Nothing.  Abandonment was also a major theme of training camp.  (“Abandonment” is stalking me!)  We are literally leaving behind all of our loved ones and everything we own to embark on this journey around the world to help people.  It is a super scary, yet wonderful, thought.

My pastor’s closing words were so awesome that I stole a pen from my cute old man neighbor and wrote them down:

Love the Lord.
Love the world.
Work for nothing.
Take all you have and be poor.
Amen.

How right on is that?!?  Told you… total conspiracy.

I will leave you with some pictures of my beautiful (slash handsome) TEAM NEON 🙂
