Throughout training camp we sang a song at worship that really stuck with me the entire week…
You’re a good, good Father, it’s who You are, it’s who You are, it’s who You are,
And I am LOVED by You, it’s who I AM, it’s who I AM, it’s who I AM.
(here’s the link to the full song: Good, Good Father )

So many times I have let what the world sees me as be how I view and identify myself.

I found my value in living up to what everyone else labeled me as.

Nice, funny, athletic, popular and smart are just a few common labels we give others.

Anytime I failed to be one of the labels that I made a part of my identity I felt unworthy of, not only other people’s love, but of God’s love.

Instead of seeing love as unconditional I viewed it as a commodity- only given to me if earned.

I’ve known my whole life that this isn’t how God loves us- that He loves us so much, all the time, He sent his own son to die for us; But, while I knew that in my mind I was never able to really believe in my heart that He loves me like that.

So, every time I fell short of perfection (which is all the time) I couldn’t believe that anyone, even God, truly loved me.

As I sang this song over and over in my head I realized that God was just trying to tell me to find my identity and worth in Him.

I no longer have to be what everyone else wants me to be. I am loved. Every hour of every day, I am loved. No matter how bad I mess up, I am loved. I am loved, it’s who I am. And who I am is enough.

1 Chronicles 16:34 “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is GOOD! His faithful love endures FOREVER.”

Thank you to everyone who has invested time, money and prayers so far! You all have been a HUGE blessing!! I am now 80% funded!!!

This leaves me with about 2,000 left to raise in order to be fully funded! I would love to leave the U.S. on September 9th being fully funded- but in order to do so I’ll need your help!

Keep in mind this money isn’t “my money”. Every cent donated is going towards the service my team and I will be doing! Even just donating a small amount of your income ($5-$20) will make an immense difference!

With love,

Kelly 🙂
