I’ve decided it’s Thanksgiving every day.
I love it.
What a beautiful idea for a day; to truly reflect on the blessings and lovely things in one’s life.
Why don’t we do this every day? We should.

Right now I am thankful for:
-the breeze hitting me and cooling some of the layers of sweat that are perpetually on me.
-the ability to communicate with friends and family back home.
-life-giving conversations like the one I just had with my teammate Lilli.
-the children sitting outside of our compound.
-the crazy way God has been speaking to me in the past week.
-freedom to love radically.
-chocolate chip cookies.
-spontaneous dance parties.
-the supernatural joy that has been placed in my heart.

There are so many wonders to be amazed at every day. God has put little treasures in our day, hidden for us to search for and when we find them, to marvel at. God’s heart is moved by our thankfulness and appreciation for His gifts.

The actual day of Thanksgiving here was such a beautiful day. It actually started for us the night before, as we took 93 street children off of the streets and provided them with fun, love, care and attention. We held a carnival, provided dental and health care, fed them dinner and cake, shared the gospel and showed them a movie. It was one of the most beautiful, humbling nights. Here is a video my squad mate Melissa Diehl made documenting the whole event. Please watch it, it will most definitely make you cry.

We were also blessed on Thanksgiving day to be provided a full feast, with everything you can imagine. It was a great day, shared with a amazing community. Friends and family back home were definitely missed, but I took advantage of the time and beauty the Lord had placed in my lap for that day. The second video was made by my squad mate Sarah Ball, and is a fun little video showing the shenanigans of that day.

Thank you everyone for reading and for following me on this journey! I truly am so thankful for you all.
