Hi!
My name is Kelly and I am 22 years old. I have officially been accepted to go on the World Race (WR) and I will be leaving in September of 2015! So exciting!!! I will be going to Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, The Philippines, and Thailand. The missions work I will be doing will look different in each country. I will be working with orphans, teenagers, sex-trafficking prevention ministries, adults, and other groups. Basically, I’ll get to experience it all. I am so beyond excited to get to serve the Lord in so many different ways with so many different people groups. I have said I wanted to do ministry full time ever since I was 12 years old, and now I am doing just that. I am currently an intern with Cru at Virginia Tech. All of my time is spent investing in the lives of college students and it truly is a blessing. I am looking forward to finishing out my time strong at VT before I head off to the WR. I know the WR will stretch me and take me out of my comfort zone, and I am so up for the challenge! I am really excited to get to show the world the love of Christ. His love has captured my heart, and I can’t wait to tell others in these countries about how much He loves and cherishes each of them.
Some fun facts about me…1) well I love Jesus first and foremost 2) I love investing in others…I think friendships are one of God’s greatest gifts to us 3) I love sports…I played pretty much everything growing up 4) I love being outdoors 5) I love the Redskins #HTTR 6) I love to dance 7) I love car rides. 8) I love being goofy, but I can also be serious. 9) I love Christmas…when I was younger I wanted to open a Christmas store…and a little part of me still wants to do that. 10) I love coffee and diet coke and ice cream! 11) LETS GO HOKIES!!!
I love never knowing exactly what each day will bring…it is such a blessing to get to live out this crazy adventure of a life with Jesus!
Please pray for me as I take this leap of faith with Jesus. Pray that He would be preparing my heart in this time up until the WR for all that the next year will entail. Pray that I would be a light for Him, and radiate Him to the world. Thank you in advance for your support, love, prayers, and for partnering alongside of me. Thank you for being a part of this crazy adventure. I hope you know how much I value your support and your prayers! I really need all of your prayers to carry me through this year with the highs and the lows I am sure I will go through. I want each of you to know that when I go out each day next year on the WR, it is not me going by myself. It is me and all of YOU as my partners. You all play a huge role in this coming year and I am so excited to keep you updated on how God is using your donations and prayers to change lives forever around the world.
