Tangaturu, India…Never heard of it, right? Well in a country as large as India, that isn't surprising. But that is where my team was assigned to be. Actually, we were only placed there for a couple of days to do some painting for Covenant Children's Homes. That couple of days turned into two weeks of our India ministry. We sanded the home inside and out, then painted the home inside and out, top to bottom. A previous World Race team had painted an ocean themed mural in the front hall. Frank and I were asked to paint a mural in the boys' bedroom. At first, we considered continuing the ocean theme but decided that we probably would not have enough blue paint for the task. We started by painting some leaves around the doorframe and a few vines around the room. When the boys saw what we were doing they said, "Jungle Book?" It dawned on us that American (and Canadian) children's would be super excited with a jungle bedroom, but would a jungle really be that impressive to kids who actually live in the jungle? One of the older boys asked if we could paint characters from The Lion King. Sure, why not? Hannah had an awesome idea to have movie night with the boys and watch The Lion King with them. Over the niext several days, Frank and I worked long hours to give these boys their dream room. It was wonderful to see their excitement, expecially from one of the littler ones who kept asking for a monkey and absolutely loved Frank's Rafiki. I really feel like Frank, myself and the rest of the team were blessed through our blessing the boys. It brought a lot of joy to everyone.

Blake hangs out…and does a little painting along the way.
