God has been moving in ways that I was hoping for when I signed up for the race. Here are three short testimonies of His faithfulness and incomprehensible power from the past two months in Kenya and Uganda.

HOLY SPIRIT HOUSE
KENYA
written by Kathryne Cearbaugh

My favorite experience this month was on a day while we were out doing street evangelism.  A man had seen us praying at a house and waited at the main road and came up and asked us to come to his house and pray for a sick family member. At the time, only Jeremy and I were available to go with one of our translators. So we followed this man to his home down a red clay path surrounded by maize fields. We entered the home and he had brought out his daughter Lynette who is 24 and has been ill since she was very young. The family believes she had gotten malaria when she was 6 years old and never received treatment for it. As a result, she was left completely mute and with mental disability. Just hearing her story and seeing the look of fear/hope in her eyes I knew God was going to provide a miracle. We sat with them and chatted for a bit and I was fighting back tears the entire time.  The rest of our team joined us [including me, Kelly] and we began praying for this family. Everyone was desperately crying out to God for this healing, tears were falling; people were singing and praying in English and Swahili. After the prayer, we asked Lynette to speak and she began to make noises for the first time in her life. She was able to say “Hello” and “Thank God”.

POSIANO’S HEALING
UGANDA

My team had a bible study under a mango tree with some of the people we met evangelizing. A man named Posiano had been in a moto accident a year ago, and his left arm and leg had been nonfunctioning. He regained feeling and movement in the left side of his body after everyone in the bible study prayed for him. Posiano is a man who loves the Lord and wants to return to work. Pray that his range of motion continues to increase and that he regains strength in his body.

IN THE CENTER OF GOD’S LOVE
UGANDA

Team Siloam had a love encounter with the Holy Spirit. We spoke truth and life into one of our teammates who has been struggling to find intimacy with Jesus. She told us she had been praying for an outpuring of God’s love over the previous three days, and through us that prayer had been answered. The Spirit’s presence was tangible as we sang and worshiped and prayed and shouted by candlelight. I felt like I was in the center of God’s love that night. As a team we’re growing in intimacy with one another and our Father.

JOHN 15:5

Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.
