We arrived in Manila to stay at KIM for our Launch
Training. Our home was beautiful, the
food was wonderful, we couldn’t have had a better location from which to
launch! We spent the week worshipping
together, praying together, spending lots of time in team building and preparing
for these next 11 months. It was so
wonderful to be all together!

Gary and Lisa spent time teaching us and pouring their
hearts into us. They are so great at
helping us discover our spiritual gifts and begin to walk in them more
fully. And as our squad began living
those out, I had a few moments of grief that I haven’t been fully walking in
these sooner. That I haven’t known all
the Lord has for me and I haven’t taught the high schoolers I’ve walked with about
all of this. But I know that we are only
responsible for what we know, so I can only begin now.

It’s so awesome to see our squad learning to
prophesy over each other, learning to intercede for each other, walking in the
gifts the Lord has given us.

We arrived in Mindanao after an early morning of travel and
running to catch our plane. We waited in line for almost 90 minutes while they assured us we’d be fine and then they “escorted” us (and by escorted, I mean ran) through security to catch our plane.  But we made
it and all our bags made it with us, including some extra food for the
Children’s Home here. As soon as we
arrived at our house, we changed clothes to begin pouring concrete for the new
home they’re building. This home will
hold almost 100 kids when it’s finished! Some folks will be working more on that, some will be spending more time
at the current Children’s Home and hopefully some will be working with high
schoolers through the church here. Things are still a little up in the air, but we’re flexible! We’ve eaten a TON of rice and lots of meat on
a stick, which is wonderful. I’d love to post some pictures but this internet connection is too slow.
