Working in youth ministry, I don’t exactly make a ton of money.  And honestly, most of my friends are in about the same income bracket as I am.  We joke about “poor” college students and life in ministry and, while we certainly know there are people a lot worse off than we are, I’m not sure we understand just how true that is.  On my “meager” salary, I am in the top 4.91% of richest people in the world!

Go to www.globalrichlist.com to find out where you stand.  Now the cynic could easily remind us that while we may be rich compared to the rest of the world, things cost more here in the US!  We need to make more money!  So, why not move to one of those cheaper areas where we don’t need as much money and love on some orphans?  Maybe Swaziland where AIM has begun an incredible ministry.  Why not give a “small” portion of our income to make a huge difference in a different part of the world?  Why not support a World Racer giving up that meager salary to live among the poorest of the poor? 🙂  (This genuinely isn’t a plug for support.  The Lord has graciously provided for me (through many of you!) and I am currently at about 70% of my goal in cash in my account and 82% when you add in pledges.  However, if you would like to help me reach 100%, use the “Support Me” link on the left to give online!)  Rather, it’s an eye opener for me and might be for you too!

And, by the way, the $13,800 we have to raise for this next year puts us in the top 12.49% richest people in the world!  Who said missionaries were poor! 🙂
