exhaustion.
that is what I have felt so far in Uganda.
I love this church and I love these people, but I have been so tired since arriving here. I think the past 6 months have caught up to me.
once again our ministry is mainly door-to-door evangelism, and I am having trouble staying motivated to do this every day.
Today I had a much welcomed distraction of a little girl who followed me around and just held my hand and rubbed my arm.
I loved this.
It gave me the energy I needed in those couple of hours.
I had more little kids following me and touching me today than ever before.
God knew I needed that.
I love that even though it wasn’t the ministry we went out to do, I was able to show some kids love and attention in the process.
and they gave me the energy I desperately needed.
As I had about 10 kids crowded around me, touching me and talking to me, Ronald, my translator and current evangelism partner, looked at me and said “these women aren’t saved, please share the gospel with them.”
so I started from the beginning and shared my faith with them.
I got to the end and expected Ronald to say “they aren’t ready to receive Jesus yet, but we can pray for them and move on.”
which is what has usually happened the past few days.
but today was different.
He looked at me and said “this lady is ready to receive Jesus.”
well, ok God, thanks for rocking my world today.
as I was sharing with this lady, I had noticed a young guy watching and listening from like 20 feet away.
After we had prayed with the lady, Ronald walked over to him and started talking to him. He told me that this guy had been listening and what we had been saying had touched his heart.
He said he was going to come to church on Sunday to except Jesus.
yep, blown away again by God.
I wasn’t even talking directly to this guy, but God used my words to touch him.
Pray that he comes on Sunday!
my teammates have all had the opportunity to lead many people to Christ in Africa, but this was my first time to actually lead someone in praying “the prayer.”
I have shared the gospel and encouraged many Christians in my time in Africa, but this was my first time to lead someone to Christ by myself.
so even in the midst of exhaustion, God managed to send me adorable children to brighten my day, and used me to lead someone to Himself.
it turned out to be a pretty cool day.
