My God is greater, my God is bigger than any other!
Tuesday my teammates went out into the community to go door to door again while I stayed back to do work on the church calendar for Pastor Ezekiel. My teammates Amy and Jenny came across a man on the street and began to talking to him. They found out that about a year ago a thorn had stabbed him in one of his eyes and he was now blind in that eye. They asked him if they could pray for him and at first he said no. They continued talking to him about Jesus and shared their stories with him for over an hour. When they were done they asked him again if they could pray for him. This time the answer was yes. So they began praying and asking God to heal this man’s eye. When they were done he said that he could see a little bit of light where before there was nothing. At this point pastor Ezekiel and Michelle walked up and they all prayed for him a second time. When they were done he said he could now see shadows in addition to the little bit of light.
Pastor Ezekiel and Michelle then went to talk to some others, but Amy and Jenny felt like they weren’t done and needed to pray once more. After this third time of persistent prayer, nothing miraculous happened but Amy heard God tell her that they were done for now, but this man would be healed.
They left him in full faith and with a promise to continue praying. He told them he would email them as soon as he could see again. They realized later, to their dismay, that they had forgotten to give him the piece of paper with their email address.
However, God was not to be hindered by this. This morning (Friday), we were sitting in the church doing office work when one of the guys who has been working with us, John, walked in and very calmly announced that the man who was blind had been healed.
what?!
Amy began jumping around and we were all so excited. The man had known what church we were from, and this morning he walked over to the guard house at the gate and told the guards to tell us that he woke up this morning and could see again!
what an amazing God!
he left a number and we are in the process of contacting him. God knew what bold faith my teammates had in praying and blessed this man with the healing of his eye.
my God is greater than any other!
I am so continually blown away by Him!
i challenge you to never put God in a box like I did for so many years. He is amazingly bigger than I will probably ever realize!
