My name is Kelly Anne. I am 24 years old, and I grew up in Jacksonville, FL.

I graduated from the University of Florida in 2013 with a degree in Exercise Physiology. I started working at UF Health & Shands hospital in Gainesville, FL when I graduated to get hours to apply for PA schools. So by now, my plan was to have started school and be on my way in my life’s career. But God had other plans.

Usually the first question people ask when they meet me is, “How tall are you?” Followed by my answer, which is quickly followed by the question of, “Did you play basketball/volleyball?” My answer, however, does not prove the stereotype wrong as I did play both of those sports and my height did help a significant amount. Ironically though it was softball, a sport for shorter people apparently because I am never asked if I play it, that I played religiously for 10 years and wanted to pursue a career in. God had different plans though when I tore my labrum and separated my shoulder ending any hope of a future career in it. But because of that, I stopped playing tournaments every weekend and started going back to church and found out that it is not a religion but a relationship and what it means to follow my Father to the ends of the earth.

The theme of my life, clearly, is God having different plans for my life than the plans I had prepared for myself. This is how I came into the World Race rather than pursuing a career in medicine.

I guess I should say a little about me since this is the ‘About Me’ section.

Adventure and Joy are my two favorite words. Joy is my favorite state of being. Adventuring is my favorite activity.

In the inevitable ice breaker game of revealing a fun fact about yourself, I always use my one fun fact that I have been a vegetarian for 11 years.

I have six tattoos and most people don’t even notice them on me since they are white.

If I had to eat one food for the rest of my life it would either be apples or PB&J.

I am an extroverted introvert.

I hate coffee but love coffee shops.

Some people love Myers Briggs (which I totally do) but I love to talk about people’s love languages, it just makes people make more sense.

I love discipleship and loving others.

I love my Jesus.
